The Mekong Delta is a perfect destination for those who want to explore new culture and rural lifestyle in Vietnam. We are excited to introduce a revised itinerary 7 days 6 nights, for our very popular cycle tour in the exotic Mekong Delta. After a recent exploratory visit we have discovered a host of new “snake-way” trails, narrow local cycling routes that take us through rice fields and into little visited villages. You will have an up close perspective of Vietnamese life on the river, and this will be a memorable experience for ever after. This tour has scheduled departures but is also available on demand for two or more people at any time of year.

Day 1: Saigon – My Tho – Ben Tre – Tra Vinh (L, D)Depart to Long An where we start riding through rice fields and dragon fruit orchards. Lunch break in My Tho town. We pass Rach Mieu ferry and keep on country road to Que Son, feeling lost on winding road under the green coconut canopy – the coconut palms that make Ben Tre famous. On arrival in Ben Tre town, we cross Ham Luong ferry and cycling 14km to Mocay and onto local ferry. We cruise over branches of mekong river to Tra Vinh. Short ride 5km to enter the town. A wonderful day with picturesque ferry crossings over Mekong River branches and islands. O/N in Tra Vinh.
Day 2: Tra Vinh – Can Tho (B, L, D)Up early for jogging around this town, enjoy fresh air with many old trees in town. Warm up by 8km to Ba Om pond, see old trees and Khmer pagoda nearby the pond. First stage 18k cycling to Tieu Can. We’ll discover more beautiful Theravada pagodas and encounter the Khmer monks in their pagoda. At Tra On small town by the mekong river, we take a ferry crossing and keep on 18km to Binh Minh, crossing ferry to Can Tho for overnight.
Day 3: Can Tho – Rach Gia (B, L, D)An early start for a boat trip to Cai Rang floating market, then we have a longer cruise on a quiet country road to take in the magnificent scenery and get close to the locals as they go about their daily routine. Then we cycle on local route along canal to Vi Thanh. Lunch break en route. In the afternoon we cycle to Go Quao and ferry crossing on to Rach Gia. O/N in Rach Gia.
Day 4: Rach Gia – Ha Tien (B, L, D)Ride a long the west coast to this vibrant border town. We turn off main road for 16km ride to Hon Chong beach area, see Chua Hang cave and the Father & Son islet. Keep on to Ha Tien town. A little limestone mountain, mangrove swamp, beaches and rice fields that make Ha Tien have special scenery. O/N in Ha Tien.
Day 5: Ha Tien – Chau Doc (B, L, D)Cycle along Vinh Te border canal to Tri Ton, we stop over for short visit to Ba Chuc ossuary well known as killing field in Vietnam, followed by a ride up the sacred Sam Mountain with its panoramic view over the vast plains of the Mekong Delta and far into Cambodia. O/N in Chau Doc.
Day 6: Chau Doc – Cao Lanh – Cai Be (B, L, D)Rising early for a boat ride through an amazing riverside market and through floating villages with tons of fish farmed in cages underneath water. We have more ferries and local road to Thuan Giang and Cho Moi before heading onto Cao Lanh. Riding through the rural area of Dong Thap province which is known as “the big rice basket” of Mekong Delta. We pass many immense rice fields along canals & rivers, keep riding to Cai Be for the night. O/N homestay in Cai Be.
Day 7: Cai Be – Saigon (B, L)Morning boat cruise to explore the local floating market. Short riding around Cai Be town. Lunch & shower. Afternoon transfer to Saigon.
